Hi! I’m Kat Weir, Director of Education here at the Ethical Society. In typical years, you can find me at the helm of our Sunday Ethical Education for Kids, or SEEK, programming. But, as we all know, this is anything but a typical year.

2020 has delivered a lot of upheaval and heartache, and there’s no way to normalize or dull that pain. But it’s also provided us the opportunity to spend more quality time with the people we love. It’s incredible! And sometimes it’s HARD. Learning to live with each other in these new dynamics, missing the people we can’t see face to face, and keeping tedium and isolation from creeping in is an exercise in creativity, patience, and love. In other words, it’s the perfect time to put those Ethical Core Values you hear at the beginning of every platform into practice.

Normally, I work primarily with the kids of our congregation, but this year we’re going off book and into your home- virtually, of course. We’re going to provide you weekly exercises that every Ethical Society household can use to improve their quality of living and loving in the time of Corona. This year, we’re going from SEEK to SEEE- Sunday Ethical Education for EVERYONE!

And, the best part, not only will me and my family bring you videos on boredom busters, activities, and relationship changers, YOU get to report your experiences from the field. Record your experiences working through the weeks with us, and we’ll feature your videos, emails, pictures, and ideas in updates and Sunday platforms.

We can’t wait to get started and to hear from you. If you’d like to participate, please send me an email at seek@ethicalstl.org. I’ll be sure you get the sign-up link and all the relevant details. If you sign up by the end of September, you can expect some really cool Ethical Society swag to appear in your mailbox!

Again, you can reach me at seek@ethicalstl.org, and I cannot wait to start this adventure with you.
