19th:   Special Presentation:  Laura Dancy Burton, co-author of The North Star: Julius Rosenwald’s Impact Upon Black America. Ms. Burton, who grew up in rural Alabama, attended a Rosenwald school. Many years later she and her husband researched her school’s namesake, a little-known Jewish philanthropist. They learned of the many outstanding black intellectuals whose education was supported and often made possible by Julius Rosenwald.
