Parent Talk on Grief and Loss
February 4, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
Please join SEEK for a Parent Talk with Dr. Pat White, Ph.D., a psychologist specializing in grief and loss. She has worked in private practice, taught counseling, acted as a critical incident specialist, and directs the organization, The Sibling Connection. She speaks and writes on the subject of grief and loss. As an expert in traumatic grief, she was one of the professional caregivers called to New York after 9/11 to assist those working around Ground Zero.
About children and sadness: it is crucial for parents to learn how children grieve. When children hurt inside, they may not understand why or even be able to name the emotion. Parents have the power to both help them in the here and now, as well as provide them with tools that will serve them for a lifetime.
