All-Society “One Book” Summer Project ‘Born a Crime’ by Trevor Noah

August 18 @ 9:45 am - 10:45 am

The Ethical Society End Racism Team invites you to participate in a community-wide reading of Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood by Trevor Noah, comedian, and host of The Daily Show. Born a Crime is the story of a mischievous young boy who grows into a restless young man as he struggles to find himself in a world where he was never supposed to exist.

The stories are by turns hilarious, dramatic, and deeply affecting and weave together to form a moving and searingly funny portrait of a boy making his way through a damaged world in a dangerous time, armed only with a keen sense of humor and a mother’s unconventional, unconditional love.

We encourage you to complete reading the book by August 18, when we’ll have a 9:45 Forum discussion about it. We encourage you to buy local, or, if you use Amazon, to sign up for Amazon Smile and choose the Ethical Society of St. Louis as your charity of choice.
