Mindfulness Meditation

Mindfulness MeditationMindfulness Meditation has been practiced for thousands of years. It is a powerful tool to deal with stress, promote physical and mental well being, and awaken the senses by living purposefully in the present moment. The practice focuses on our communities and our efforts at coping and compassion to provide for individual and collective contentment. We utilize Mindfulness Meditation techniques to become aware of the ethical ideal of relationship-building and self-care as a personal spiritual practice for the non-theistic minded.

We are given the opportunity to join mindfulness practice and ethical living in a way to care for ourselves and our community at The Ethical Society of St. Louis in an open group format. To take advantage of this opportunity we will be offering Ethical Mindful Meditation Practice each Tuesday evening at 6 and 7 p.m. Come to either or both sessions.

Ethical Mindful Meditation Practice:

Ethical Society member and Chaplain Randal Blain, a mindful practitioner himself, will be facilitating the groups. The group at 6:00 p.m. begins with a 30-minute discussion of the theories and techniques of mindfulness. At 6:30 there will be a 20-minute practice session and at 7:00 there will be a one-hour session. This class is free and open to all with contributions greatly appreciated. Please see the Adult Education Bulletin for details.
